One of the causes of hair loss is alopecia. There are two types: alopecia areata and androgenetic alopecia. Alopecia areata occurs when the body's immune system attacks the hair follicles. This results in the thinning of hair in men known as male pattern baldness and in women, it is called female diffuse hair loss.
Other medical conditions that may cause hair loss are:
- skin disorders
- thyroid problesm
- radiation
- protein deficiency
- stress and
- high blood pressure
Let's take a look at several hair loss home remedies that are simple, natural, cost-effective and have no side effects.
Onion Honey Paste
Mix 2 tablespoons of onion and 2 tablespoons of pure honey in a small container. Grind them to form a thick paste. Next, apply it to the bald areas of the scalp and leave it on for 7-8 minutes before washing. Use the paste at least twice a day (mornings and evenings) for best results.
Fenugreek Seeds and Olive Oil
Fenugreek is an effective remedy for curing hair loss due to environmental conditions. You can find these seeds in health food stores.
Soak one cup of seeds in water for at least 8 hours and grind them to form a coarse paste. Mix one tablespoon of olive oil in the paste and apply the mixture on the scalp. Leave it on for 20 minutes before washing your hair with warm water. The paste helps in eliminating dandruff, stimulates the follicles and acts as a moisturizer.
Apple Cider Vinegar and Saga Tea
A mixture of apple cider vinegar and saga tea is one of the best yet least known hair loss home remedies. Apple cider vinegar contains vitamin B, minerals and alpha hydroxy acids. Saga tea is a natural ingredient from the leaves of the saga plant.
The word "saga" which originates from Latin means "to save or cure". This solution when used to rinse the hair twice a week, works by removing the dead skin cells that clog the growth of hair follicles.
Healthy Diet
Eat a healthy diet by including foods that are high in protein. Protein contains a chemical called biotin which maintains the health of your hair.
Have you ever tried drinking green tea? Well, you definitely need to start today.
Green tea is known to help hair growth. It works by reducing the DHT or dihydrotestosterone in your body. DHT along with alopecia is believed to be a major cause of hair loss. Drinking 24 oz. of green tea at least once a day will naturally grow back your hair.
In addition, make sure you drink at least 5 glasses of water as part of your diet.
